Optimizing kids’ pop-up home offices: 2 examples
Who would have thought that this fall kids’ home offices would be essential? Be it a spot at the dining table or a room-turned-office, kids need spaces optimized for learning and focus every bit as much as their parents. Parents are still trying to figure out their own setups while doing the same for their kids. It’s tough, but families are adapting in creative ways.

This summer I thoroughly enjoyed reading Atomic Habits by James Clear. I actually don’t read nearly as many productivity books as you’d might expect.

I’m a huge fan of white artist tape for labeling nearly everything. I use it in the pantry as well. Yes, label maker labels look better, but these are faster. Artist tape allows me to change labels within seconds, never fumbling around for tape or batteries.

I recently gained a drawer in my bathroom due to our renovation. I had been dreaming about this drawer for months. You can imagine my joy when the new vanity was finally installed and I could finally set up a HAIR DRAWER!! T
Another lesson in simplicity out of Japan
When helping people declutter, the act of letting go, minimizing, making hard cuts, etc. can be difficult. What if in that same act we were could focus on acquiring more of something? Well, we are, but maybe we never explicitly saw it that way...

I recently worked with a client who, over the course of just two sessions, got rid of at least 10 trash bags of clothes (45 pairs of shoes were only a sliver of it!). Jobs like that put ME in the mood to tear through my own closet.
