The downside of capturing too many memories
The irony isn’t lost on me that in scouring my Evernote for a particular article that I saved, I came across a gem of an article that a client sent to me in 2013 that I had never shared on how when we save too much, what’s truly save-worthy gets shadowed by what’s not.
Makeover your Mac Menubar
The Mac menubar is prime real estate that, if carefully populated, can be quite the powerhouse of daily tools. Two of my favorites are WeatherBug and Menubar countdown. Sadly, Menubar countdown is no longer available, but there are many other similar options under “Time Apps” at www.macmenubar.com. I know people who love and use the Thyme app.

They held clothing, but not well… Like I’ve said a thousand times before, “We should have taken a before shot!” You can probably imagine though what a stuffed trunk full of clothes typically looks like; Like strata, the closer to the bottom we got, the more folded (though more forgotten) items of clothing were. She couldn’t see what she had and therefore was mostly using the top few items.
How to break inertia: undo years of clutter in just hours.
A big thing my clients struggle with is inertia - for all sorts of reasons. What I love about my job is that we not only break it, but sometimes get results like this in 3 hours when it had been put off for YEARS!
Really stuck with sorting? Scribble today's date to help out your future self.
Just this week I came across the box pictured here in a client’s home. That’s my handwriting from December. We had run out of time in our session and I knew I wouldn’t see her again for probably a couple months.
