Watch more behind-the-scenes Kacy on my Instagram Stories
Having a YouTube channel with over a hundred videos, I thought I had video down. I just had a rude awakening though. Last week I was at a workshop for entrepreneurs where a TV producer drilled into our heads (jumping up and down screaming, actually) that we have to be creating videos all day every day or else our business is dead.
Los Angeles has one less messy office
L.A. has always been at the top of my list of American cities to visit, which is why I was thrilled when the stars aligned for me to work with a lovely woman in Northridge, CA in early November. I spent three days exploring one of my new favorite cities and three and a half days organizing one of its home offices in need.
(A Real) Portrait of a Professional Organizer
Last week I was so in my element buried under paper that I asked my client to capture the moment. This snapshot could not be a more accurate representation of what my work looks like! You’re looking at bank statements and explanations of benefits that date back to the 1980s.

I’d rather spend hours sorting and tossing than strolling the pretty aisles of the Container Store. Simply putting things in boxes is rarely the answer, but sometimes a good workhorse of a product opens up a world - or wall - of possibility. This was the case when we corralled my client’s scattered collection of The Container Store’s Like-It Modular Drawers to effectively create a supply closet in an office that was in dire need of one.
Why a 2nd desk won’t solve your problems
My client and I are so close to taking a gorgeous “after” shot of this office - we started in 2013! No it hasn’t technically taken us this long to do the job. We worked for about 20 hours back then, and largely fixed the systemic “behind the scenes” problems, and even cleared the entire extra table and most of the desk.
What I’ve been organizing lately - receipts, receipts, and receipts
If you ever spend your spare time wondering “Hmm, I wonder what Kacy Paide is doing right now,” hold this picture in your head. When in doubt, I’m sorting receipts. This photo isn’t to indict any particular client because her pile of receipts could belong to pretty much any of my clients.
