What problems do I solve?

I'm in the process of crafting a beautiful new website on which I'll feature a list of problems I solve (thanks to Marcus Sheridan's post here).  Will you please help me build this list?  I'm picturing these to be only about a dozen words each.  Fill in the blanks or create your own from scratch and post in the comments below or send to kacy@theinspiredoffice.com. My office is___________________. My office isn't ____________________. The state of my office is preventing me from _________________. Instead of _______________ I _________________. I really just wish I could ___________________. I could get organized if only ___________________. Each time I walk into my office I _______________. I worry that ____________________. I'm overwhelmed when _______________________. I'm frustrated with ____________________. I've tried to start on my own but each time I ________________. I wish I could do this on my own, but __________________.

Please keep replies under 12 words. Even if you only have one organizing problem that needs solving, please send to kacy@theinspiredoffice.com or post in the comments below!

Thank you in advance!

How I Usually Create Drawer Dividers

Last week I helped my friend Racheal Cook of The Yogiprenuer organize in Richmond, VA.

We organized some drawers using an ad-hoc (but instantly effective) process that I turn to often.

Rarely asking clients to buy supplies before we start, since we don't know what we need until we dig in, I used what we could find.  I'm always on the lookout for boxes of all sizes that can be repurposed with the flaps cut off. Most of the time it just so happens that we have exactly what we need!

From this:

To this!

All we used to makeover this drawer:

  • an iPhone box
  • an iPad box & lid
  • an Amazon box
  • a perfume box
  • a random round box

Yes, she can certainly beautify this further with more permanent drawer dividers, but this quick solution buys her some time until she can find just the right pieces.

My Advice Appears in NYC's Metro Magazine

Last week I was pleased to be interviewed for an article on workspace productivity in Metro's online magazine.  I give so much advice, micro and macro, that it's nice when I'm called to focus on the basics.

Read carefully.

The gems are all in there. This concise article really sums up everything I teach when consulting.
