Dear Friends and Clients,
I always say to clients that sometimes the simplest of changes make the biggest impact. Today’s tip is a quick and easy way for you to accessorize and maximize your electronic files. I’ve had a few jobs where all we do is organize electronic files. How enlightened the soul who recognizes the benefit of an organized computer in addition to an organized office! Electronic clutter doesn’t take up any physical space, but don’t deny how it affects you. Let this be step one towards a spotless electronic desktop.
Be Well,

Before truly understanding her niche, Evelyn Bandoh, founder and principal consultant for EAB Creative Planning Services, LLC, always made herself available to assist any person that even said the word “entrepreneurship”. As a result, Evelyn always did a lot of work and sometimes had very little (cash and likewise) to show for it. As someone who loves efficiency and progress, she found this to be wholly unacceptable. As a sharp-shooting business consultant, she decided to take her own advice and figure out where things were going wrong. Finishing her analysis, she realized that the key to her impending victory was decreasing the size of her target audience and identifying and mastering her niche. After a lot of planning, soul searching, and real life interactions, she realized that she felt a special connection with creative people. As a business and financially savvy person with a highly creative sprit, she realized that she could use her talents to help her fellow creators learn how to “generate wealth through creativity.”
Since her business breakthrough, Evelyn is now working with clients who “get what she does”, “values what she does” and who are “willingly to pay for her services”. The biggest benefit is that now Evelyn has more time to dedicate to the launch of her upcoming jewelry line.
Evelyn Bandoh is the founder and principal consultant of EAB Creative Planning Services, LLC. EAB helps creative businesses and entrepreneurs maintain sustainableenterprises by providing training, advising and coaching services that are relevant to the needs of the creative community. Evelyn is happy to help you with your business planning and training needs- she can be reached at evelyn@eabplanning.com or 202.277.0954.

Don’t Forget Those Electronic Files
After college when I switched to a PC from a Mac (I curse the day), what I missed most were my color coded electronic files. About 5 years ago I downloaded a FREE software, icolorfolder.com, that allows me to color code my electronic files. I simply right click on any folder in my computer and select a color. I now speed through opening folders within folders within folders. For instance, everything organizing related is in a hot pink folder. I just follow the trail of pink, instead of hunting and pecking through a sea of yellow.
A client of mine swears by www.foldermarker.com. With more bells and whistles, this program allows you to attach icons to your folders to indicate category or action type. You can choose to attach a clock, a checkmark, or even a baby pacifier to your folders.
Starting at $19.95.

If you're not a lucky Mac user, thus, not already able to color code your folders, download icolorfolder! Downloading only takes few minutes and also doubles as a distraction from all that work you're supposed to be doing. Just don't do it while your hourlglass is running. |
